Suncore

Suncore Industries was established in 2000 and have been a member of the Automotive Parts Rebuilders Association (APRA) ever since. Our mission began with rebuilding air suspension components and moved quickly into offering better solutions with conventional suspension conversion kits to give our customers the longevity they can rely on.

The most common reason for an air strut failure is due to dry rotting of the air bag. This is something that happens over time, the air bag starts to deteriorate and causes leaks, when this happens the air bag can no longer hold air pressure. A leaking air bag can cause the strut it fits over to fail as well. The second factor of an air strut failure is the strut itself. The strut is pressurized with fluid, and if the strut begins to fail it will no longer have the same pressure to hold the vehicle. If this system begins to fail one visible sign will be that your vehicle will be lower than factory height. If Air Struts are not replaced on time, it will cause an Air Suspension Compressor Failure.

I installed these on a 2006 GMC Yukon XL. This truck is constantly loaded with tools and pulls a heavy trailer regularly. With the stock air shocks, the rubber frame bumpers were constantly resting directly on the axle, and it was very obvious how severely the rear end was sagging. After installing these shocks, the rear ride height increased about 3", and the truck now sits level with the weight in it. This also greatly improved ride quality and handling. The shocks themselves look to be very well made and I expect them to outlive the truck. I removed the fuse for the air compressor and height management system so I did not need to use the resistors that were included. Suncore has excellent customer service and I was very happy with the fast responses to my questions and how quickly these shocks were shipped.

Installed easily on my 2002 Escalade and these were a cheap fix vs the OEM adjustable shocks. Of course you lose the auto-adjust from the original shocks. Only issue I've had is that the springs on these sometimes make noise if they get dirty. The dirt causes the outside spring to rub against the inside cylinder as they compress, and then they "ring" sort of like the sound you'd get after you tapped them with a rubber mallet. Had to clean them off once already to keep this from happening...

I first purchased these heavy duty shocks for my 2003 Cadillac Escalade Ext to replace the troublesome air leveling system and couldn't have been happier. No more worries and the truck rode like a dream! Unfortunately my beloved truck was totaled when a young driver, who was texting, rammed into the left rear quarter at full speed while the truck was parked. I replaced it with a 2009 Cadillac Escalade Ext and within a month of ownership the rear shocks started leaking. I went to order these same conversion shocks to place the defective ones but the option was not available. So instead, being that my compressor was fine, I purchased PART #: 150G-14-R-RES which are the Standard Air Shock Absorbers with Auto Ride Bypass. Unfortunately I didn't like the ride as it felt "too floaty" to me in the rear. I called and spoke with Suncore manager Joe who was able to do a direct swap to replace the air shocks with these heavy duty shocks and my 2009 rides as good if not better than my trusty 2003!! Joe provided me a UPS shipping label for me to return the air shocks at no added cost to me!!! I cannot thank Suncore enough for their great products, professionalism and outstanding customer service!! I will ALWAY shop Suncore for any and all future suspension needs!

I have a 2002 Cadillac Escalade. Is this the correct kit for my suspension. Thanks.

Ariel, Yes, this kit is compatible with your 02' Escalade. Keep in mind it is a conversion so you are getting out of electronics, instructions are included in the box. Please let us know if you need anything else, have a good day. -Stephanie

I have a 2011 yukon XL Denali whit a leveling kit of 1.5” on the rear. do u guys offer the same shock but maybe a bit longer to compensate for that 1.5 inches?

Customer Service

Hi Jovan, We do not have a conversion shock that is going to compensate for the 1.5 inch lift. Our parts will only fit factory settings and will bring your vehicle to factory height. We do apologize for the inconvenience, we hope you have a great day. -Stephanie

If I buy these shocks, do I need to replace the coil springs too?

Customer Service

Hi Alex, You do not need to replace the coils unless they are very compressed or rusted. These shocks have helper springs so it will assist your current coils. Please let us know if you need anything else.
